The book is basically a very, very sketchy history of US carrierops in WW2 with a very little bit of Independence class materialtossed in. 5" and has 160 ruled pages to give you lots of room to write. It describes the frustration of incompatible relationships among mother, son, and daughter-in-law as they deteriorate amidst the social weariness and ennui which pervaded China in the 1940s. A cute Christmas novella of unrequited love and a somewhat hysterical teen angsting her way into her best guy friend's heart. It is an understatement to say this is a narrow and repetitive view of WQED's early 1990's history. There was one special catalog that us children loved to see arrive. I have enjoyed all the books in the series so far.
