Foxman in this book describes many of the organization's activities in this regard. Illustrations are very good. In the process we are treated to a wonder of topics. Cone gives insider scoop into their dealings with white churches and other bodies, into the formation of the NCBC and how that movement evolved over the next twenty years (the book was written in 1984 and closes there). Barbecu-Smith, who writes 1,500 publishable words an hour — an admirable feat under most circumstances.
